5 simple ways to keep your interior clean

For some of us, we spend a lot of time in our cars.  You may even think it’s your second home.  That is ideally why you do get your vehicle detailed from time to time.  But what about the ways to keep your interior clean so that you can enjoy that fresh experience even longer?

We have put together these 5 easy steps for helping you keep your vehicle interior clean.

1. Do not eat inside.

Sadly, many people have this bad habit. Eating inside is one of the most unpleasant actions you can take in your car. You might dispose of the wrappers immediately, but that would not help a lot. Only think about all the crumbs and stains that may be left on the back of the car. If you want to keep the interior clean and shining, you’d better avoid this process.

2. Hang a trash bag.

Although you may not eat inside, there is always some junk and useless products. Hanging a remove handbag on the spine of your seat will be a very sensible solution to this problem. You may make use of it for paperwork, water bottles and all the other rubbish that may be found there. At the end of the week, you just take the bag away and throw it away. It is that simple!

3. Knock your shoes before getting in.

You can get in your car with completely clean shoes particularly when it rains or snows outside the house. But you might do a little trick to reduce the dirt. Only sit down on the seat with your thighs outside. Then knock your feet together. That should at least free the foot wells from some ruins and grime.

4. Clean your floor mats regularly.

In case you follow the last advice, you are not able to adequately protect the floor mats from getting filthy. But there is a relatively simple method way to clean them. First, a little vacuum-cleaning to take away the big chunks. Then you scrub the mats with water and soap and let them dry. Stick to this scheme regularly, and you should manage to maintain them neat and clean.

5. Empty the vehicle and trunk of the things you don’t need.

Take out the garbage and remove any unnecessary items. You’ll be surprised how large your vehicle is. Sort the things you use into piles. Make one for maintenance supplies, music, manuals, maps and other items. That way, you’ll know where to find what you need quickly.

6. Make sure the napkins are at your disposal. (yes…we added a 6th one)

There are always something happening in the car, milk spilled and child throwing up. You can clean up all the mess if you have napkins around and if you can have cloth by your side, it will be even better.

There is just something to be said about having a clean interior to your car that puts you in a state of zen.  For some people, it’s almost like enjoying that feeling you had when you bought your car.  If you’d like to talk more about having us professionally clean your vehicle top to bottom, check out our Detailing Packages here.
